I'm starting a Wildlife Relocation Program

.... as soon as my husband gets home!

It's honestly not the baby bunnies that bother me. They are leaving my annuals alone this year (they apparently don't like Lantana) and even though they have made themselves quite at home in my backyard and on my backporch, I'm actually enjoying seeing them around.

The leopard geckos running amuck are amusing and the kids love catching them. They are more then welcome to stay.

The baby red tailed hawk that took a rest on our back fence was beautiful and we were sad to see him leave.

Even the baby mockingbird that keeps flying into our garage is sweet. We just have to keep sending him out.

It's the baby snakes that we found on our front walk way this morning that will be immediately and promptly relocated at my husband's earliest convenience. Have I mentioned how much I dislike snakes? And the fact that there were two means there must be more. (one we found was DOA - dead on arrival of the FedEx truck- ha ha ha ha ) (I know, it's probably wrong that finding the creature and then realizing it was dead should fill me with such happiness) (just being honest here) And that fact that there are more means there must be a mama around. Ack!

He is currently being safetly contained on the backporch and my son is trying to figure out what type of habitat he would enjoy and what we could feed him.
That does not help me.
So I'm off to Walmart to buy mothballs. I've heard they keep away snakes.
I'll let you know how that works out for me!

  2. I do not do snakes. Do not. Do not. Time to have a little sit down compromise meeting with your kids. :) My dad used to sprinkle lime or Lyme powder around the perimeter of our yard. It's good for your grass and it burns their belly so they won't want to slither in. Good luck with all that. Also a good female cat is a great snake hunter. And they keep the rats away which is the snake bait.
