I spy with my little eye...

a woolly bear caterpillar.....
Guess who spied two?
and she's not a bit proud of herself....
Folks believe that if a woolly bear caterpillar's brown stripe is wide, the winter weather will be mild and if the brown stripe is narrow, the winter will be severe.

Looks like Missouri should have a nice mild winter.

Which also might explain why we haven't seen any in Texas.

Do they have winter in Texas?

  1. Wow! She's a brave little princess. Great pictures by the way. No, Texas does not have winter. In fact, a few years ago - it was so hot there on Christmas vacation we had to go look for summer clothes on clearance somewhere - so my kids would die of heat stroke. Have fun with that.

  2. IMPRESSIVE. My little princess almost did not get near the caterpillar we saw last week. She tried to be brave at a far distance.
