Love Day Giveaway - Day 3

This is it! The last day of our giveaway... If you are just tuning in, go here to read about it and then come back and leave a comment of your favorite love song and then head on over to Mrs. Troop and leave a comment for her also . Please remember to leave an e-mail address if we don't already have it and let me know which one of my giveaways you would prefer. We will be closing the giveaway at midnight tonight and randomly drawing winners tomorrow at 8:00am.

And now, back to the Love Song Countdown...........

Number 5
So, when my sister was dating the guy that was to become her husband, I heard this song so many times (because it was one of her favorites) that it has also been committed to memory so I thought it deserved a place in my countdown. This one is for you Kimberly. :)

Number 4
I have been a Harry fan for many moons now. I believe this was the third tape (yes, a cassette tape... they came after 8 tracks and before CDs) I bought of his. I loved this song the most.

Number 3
We had some friends sing this song at our wedding. They were friends of Ben's and at the rehearsal they still didn't know all the words. I was just a little stressed but they promised me they would know it by the wedding, and they did. It was beautiful and Steven Curtis Chapman was and is still one of our favorite artists.

(and no, I don't know who Tom & Jeannie are,... sounds familiar but I don't think it's the same)

Tomorrow we will announce our winners and I will also reveal my first and second place choices for favorite love songs. I know it is going to be difficult, but you are just going to have to wait. :)

I am really having a great time with this and you gals are coming up with some GREAT love song choices!

Happy Day Before Valentine's Day!

But the greatest of these is love. . ." I Corinthians 13:13

  1. I do believe everyone I know who married in the early 90's had that song at their wedding. Us included. And my brother did not know all of the words at rehearsal either. Too fun! Looking forward to tomorrow!

  2. okay I am playing "catch up"...so I will post a few of my favorites!! Like I told Mrs. Troop..all of my favorites come from the BEST broadway musical in the world!! The Phantom of the Opera!! So you can take your pick...they are all equally beautiful and are sure to give you goosebumps....but I love, "All I Ask of You", "Think of Me", and "The Music of the Night". So if any of you husbands are reading...you MUST take your wives for a romantic get-a-way..it is usually in Dallas....so check it out..you will never forget it!! Happy Valentines Day!!!

  3. I thought of a flashback to who know when. What about the song "Don't Know Much" by Aaron Neville and Linda Ronstadt (sp.?). That was a good one wasn't it? I really think I might have listened to that. Oh, and yes, I bought the Sonny & Cher cassette of "I Got You Babe." Loved that one. This has been fun. My Chris told me that in a drawing if you will fold your name in half it's easier to draw out. So on my entries will you fold them over...jk :) !!!!

  6. Wow - a giveaway!? You're big time!

I don't want to enter the giveaway, but I love the Harry Connick Jr. song. (Really, I'm sure if I read the rules closely, family wouldn't be eligible to win anyway!) I used to go visit my sister in Edmond (I think I was in jr. high) and listen to that tape repeatedly. I love that song! Know every word.

  7. Since my computer won't let me watch any of the you tube segments. Is your number 4 song. "I think I love you." I can tell that is Reuben Kinncaid. Anyway if it is David Cassidy was on Oprah yesterday singing that song.
I can't believe today is your last day. I think next Valentine's we should start this the first day of February. Their are too many songs to name. I am so jumpy and jittery right now I am babbling-I promise I won't get a grande coffee at Starbuck's- that is too much caffine even for a gal my size!

  8. You all are cracking me up! Yes, Rebecca, you are more than welcome to play. I think only those in my own household are ineligible altough he has tried to enter anyways. :)

Carla, yes that is David Cassidy with I think I love you! Ha! LOVE that song! Does that make you feel better about Donnie Osmond? :) And I thought I really SHOULD have started on the first day of February and just done one song a day but I've had sick kids and the idea only occured to me right before last weekend.

And I will make sure to fold the entry for the Anderson zoo. :) Actually, I win things like that if I fold it in half, fold it in half the other way and then scrunch it. Works every time!

    Have a great day everyone!

  9. this is too fun!

i love love love "A Page is Turned" by Bebo Norman. You can hear it on the link below. The first video that came up on You Tube is some random people's wedding video and for some reason it has spanish subtitles (?) So you may not want to watch it as it kind of makes me want to crack up and takes away from the song. (:

  10. Okay, my all time favorite love song is 'The Other Side of Me' by Michael W. Smith. It was sung at our wedding 6 years ago. I tried to get a link, but all I found were some sad, random people trying to sing it. They couldn't do it justice.

  11. One of my favorites is James Taylor -
How sweet it is to be loved by you! I think someone else already named that, but I still think it is an all time favorite!
